About Department

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering aims to produce qualified and dynamic engineers in the fast changing area of Smart Devices, Mobile emerging technologies, automation, Industrial IoT, VLSI. The Department has a sophisticated and modern laboratory equipment and software/tool (HFSS, CADENCE, MATLAB, MULTISIM, KEIL uVision, LABVIEW) for research and development work in the areas of Antenna and Microwave Engineering, Signal Processing and Communication, VLSI and Embedded System. The department of ECE undertakes real-time application projects in Smart Irrigation, Industrial IoT, and Chip Design.

The teaching-learning process involved project-based learning leading to a product that gives a technological solution. The department promotes various technical clubs viz; Robotics, IoT, and students are prepared for Hackathon in an identified problem area.

Department offers MTech in Embedded Systems and also takes full-time and part-time research scholars to pursue Ph.D. The Department motivates the faculty, students and research scholars to work on the project and research-oriented programs to compete in the new industrial resurgence. Summer training, industrial visit, and projects are carefully planned for the students to remain updated with the technological trend.

Scope of the MTech Programme

  • M.Tech in Embedded System along with your B.Tech degree expands career prospects in the field of Embedded systems.
  • Enhance the job preference where specialized with higher qualification candidates will be required in the field of Embedded System, even it enables higher positions in an organization as well as chances of getting a promotion will increase.
  • Provide job opportunities for companies that recruit embedded system engineers having sound and practical knowledge about hardware design and writing firmware for different microcontrollers (AVR, ARM, and PIC).
  • Create opportunities to work in the popular and advanced technology used in multiple applications such as networking equipment, digital video cameras, mobile phones, electronics appliances, aerospace applications, and telecom applications and the most important Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Provide an opportunity to work on live projects based on advance microcontrollers as well as device drivers
  • Enhance your research activity in the field of Embedded System which includes technical literature, prototyping ideas, and writing papers.

Achievements

  • Implementation of Hand Gesture System for Speech Impaired People with Notification.
    The goal of this project is to design a flex sensor-based audio command through a gesture recognition module that can efficiently translate the hand gesture into words to help speech impaired People.
  • Remote Monitoring Controlling & Automation of Protected Environment Cultivation-
    Monitoring the Environmental parameters of Greenhouse for example soil moisture, humidity, temperature, light intensity, carbon dioxide concentration through Analog sensors like soil moisture sensors and carbon dioxide sensor and digital sensor like DHT22 all the monitored data are sent to the processor (Raspberry Pi).
  • Smart Room Monitoring and Controlling through Web-
    Aim of the project is to control home appliances from anywhere in the world using AlexaPi and ESP-12E (or any ESP board)
  • Students presented four number of research paper in International Conference ICMSEA 2019.
  • IoT Based Smart Garbage System for Efficient Waste Management-
    An automatic sorter machine is developed which can sort out the wastes in various categories to make waste management easier and efficient by using microcontroller and Pi camera.
  • ASIC Implementation of 8 BIT RISC Processor-
    This project presents a 8-bit RISC processor design and ASIC implementation using Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL). The processor is designed using Harvard architecture, having separate instruction and data memory. Its most important feature is that its instruction set is very simple, contains only 29 instructions, and another important feature is pipelining, used for improving performance.
  • ASIC Implementation of Scalable Encryption Algorithm for Miniaturized Gadgets-
    SEA is a scalable encryption algorithm widely utilized miniaturized devices and it is predominantly designed for its enactment in processors with a limited instruction set and throughput requirement. The work reported the ASIC implementation of SEA using Cadence EDA tool. The power consumption and delay was found to be 78.11 µW, 690 pS .
  • ASIC Implementation of Halftone Pixel Image Conversion-
    Halftone is the reprographic technique that simulates continuous-tone imagery through the use of dots, varying either in size or in spacing, thus generating a gradient-like effect. “Halftone” can also be used to refer specifically to the image that is produced by this process
