About Department

The dual degree program in Anesthesia and Operation Theater Technology equips students with comprehensive proficiency in the pharmacology of both anesthetic and non-anesthetic drugs. They undergo rigorous training in the preparation, dilution, and labeling of these drugs, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Students are adept in the preparation of Anesthesia trolleys and are proficient in checking and maintaining various medical apparatus, including suction machines, gas systems, OT tables, and inhalation agents used in operating theaters. With a deep understanding of anesthesia techniques, instruments, supplies, and technology, graduates are capable of assisting in the administration and monitoring of anesthesia during surgical procedures. They play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of operating theaters, both in emergency situations and planned surgeries. Their responsibilities include the proactive preparation and maintenance of operation theaters, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for surgical procedures.

Operation Theater Technologists are integral members of any healthcare facility, entrusted with the crucial task of facilitating surgical interventions. Their role extends beyond the operation theater as they are also responsible for managing the operation theater environment and overseeing its day-to-day operations. With specialized knowledge in anesthesia techniques tailored to diverse patient populations and surgical procedures, they provide invaluable support to anesthesia and surgery teams throughout the perioperative period, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care in recovery rooms and wards.

Through this program, students not only acquire technical proficiency but are also instilled with a commitment to delivering the highest quality of professional services. They are trained to uphold ethical standards, demonstrate effective communication skills, and exhibit a positive attitude towards teamwork and patient care. Graduates emerge from the program well-prepared to excel in diverse healthcare settings, contributing to the seamless delivery of surgical care and promoting positive outcomes for patients.
