Implicit in our vision for inclusive education and development is our open practice – open courseware, open content and open culture of learning. Centurion Open Courseware contains learning tablet materials developed for the courses of School of Engineering, School of Management and School of Agricultural Sciences which are free and accessible.
The University has so far developed e-content for 151 courses. It is the repository of Centurion learning materials. Even though there is lot of courseware available (MIT, NPTEL), this courseware has been developed by our faculty keeping the Centurion student in mind. The material is tablet enabled by M Learn Solutions and the students of CS Department. It is very interactive, and available in easy-to-understand format: Flash Cards, Notes, Presentations, Subjective and Objective Questions, Solved Question Banks and Interactive Assessments. So, it is context specific. The material is especially prepared for slow learners, and those who have learning difficulties. The material will help the average student avoid a backlog in any subject. The flexibility in the learning space permeates anytime, anywhere learning.
The Open Courseware is in the nascent stage, and subject to constant revisions. The apps are downloadable, and compatible with Laptops and Smart Devices. The main aim is to facilitate e-learning and lifelong learning. The most noticeable in this, is the transformation of teacher-centric to learner-centric, open education concept. Further, this transformation gets reflected in the shift from instructor-based learning to technology-based learning. The metamorphism has come up due to multiple learning styles, changing learning preferences, increasing learning needs, information explosion and new age demands.
The Media Resource Centre of the University facilitates this material development. The MRC also develops video material of classroom lectures. Some of such videos are uploaded in You Tube and are accessible from the You Tube link given in our website.
