Dr. Himansu Bhusan Samal is a distinguished academician, researcher, and academic administrator, currently serving as Professor and Principal at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. He previously served as Associate Dean at the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Bhubaneswar (NAAC A+ accredited), and continues to contribute as the IQAC Coordinator for the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Assistant Professor at School of Pharmacy, Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus, Hyderabad—an autonomous institution accredited by UGC, NBA, and NAAC with an A+ grade.

Dr. Samal obtained his M.Pharm and Ph.D. from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha. With over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has made substantial contributions to pharmaceutical sciences. His scholarly output includes 50 peer-reviewed research publications, 2 edited books, 16 book chapters, and 10 patents, reflecting his commitment to innovation and knowledge dissemination.

He is a Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society (FIC), Kolkata, and a life member of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). Dr. Samal has successfully supervised more than 30 M.Pharm students and is currently guiding 6 Ph.D. scholars.

His research interests encompass Quality by Design (QbD)-enabled formulation development, periodontal drug delivery, hydrogel-based wound healing systems, solubility enhancement, and advanced drug delivery approaches including nanoparticulate and mucoadhesive systems. As a proactive academic leader, he has organized and contributed to numerous faculty development programs, workshops, and national-level seminars, significantly contributing to academic excellence and institutional development.
