Industry Expert talk

An expert talk and student interaction session conducted on 23rd January 2026 in online mode. Industry expert with 28+ years of experience in Cement and Building industry Dr. Abinash Mishra addressed the faculties and students on “Innovation and Enterprise Management”. A total of 100 students from School of Engineering and Technology, and School of Management along with department faculties have actively involved in the session. Dr. Abinash emphasized on how Innovation and Enterprise Management go together in the current industrial practices. His advice to students is to inculcate innovation mindset at the early stage of their professional career rather than waiting till they reach the CXO position in a company. An apt message to the theme of session highlighted by Dr. Abinash was to “Keep Learning New Technologies as well as New advancements in current academic curriculum”.

Grassroots Rural Health Camp

The door-to-door medical camp conducted at Kondavelgada Village on 07 January 2026 was successfully completed. The collaborative effort of anesthesia technicians and optometry students ensured comprehensive basic health and vision screening. The program fulfilled its objectives of community service, health awareness, and practical learning experience for students.

Grassroots Rural Health Camp

A door-to-door community health screening program was successfully conducted on 02 January 2026 at Chandramapeta Village from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The program involved 10 anesthesia technician students and 5 optometry students, who screened 25 villagers for basic health and vision-related issues. The initiative promoted preventive health awareness while providing valuable hands-on community healthcare experience to students.

3-DAYS WORKSHOP ON AI-DRIVEN EMBEDDED SYSTEMS OCT 23rd -OCT 25th

The workshop advanced into AI and machine learning integration, where participants trained
and deployed lightweight ML models for applications such as face recognition, gesture
control, and object detection optimized for embedded systems. The final sessions revolved
around project development, including innovative applications like AI-based attendance
systems, face mask detection, environmental monitoring, and interactive virtual instruments
such as virtual drums and virtual piano.

BIZFEST 3.0 – Management Fest 23.10.2025 to 24.10.2025

Webinar on Astigmatism Correction using RGP Contact Lens

As a part of World Sight Day 2025 celebrations, Department of Optometry orgainsed a webinar on Astigmatism Correction using RGP Contact Lens by Dr K Nagaraju, Associate Professor from Hyderabad Central University. The webinar was full of knowledge and experience which made the students to understand and learn about the parameters and selection of RGP contact lens for various types of corneas.

Hands-on Offline workshop on Web 3.0 Tech

• Participants successfully installed Metamask and set up testnet wallets.
• Each participant ideated a unique Solidity project using Claude AI.
• Developed a functional Solidity smart contract with 2–3 core functions.
• Deployed smart contracts on the testnet environment using Remix IDE and Metamask.
• Copied and documented contract addresses and transaction hashes.
• Verified transactions on blockchain explorers with corresponding screenshots.
• Created a well-structured GitHub repository containing code and documentation (README.md).
• Shared their project experience via Twitter with photos/selfies and on LinkedIn for professional visibility.
• Completed the project submission process by filling the required Google Form.

Visit to Helen Keller Memorial Foundation for Blind

As a part of World Sight Day 2025, Department of Optometry visited to Helen Keller Memorial Foundation for Blind and conducted vision screening camp. They were also distributed with blankets and steel water bottles as a token of contribution, The visit ended with a lunch served to those specially challenged students, the amount spent for this visit was generated through crafts mela done by the students of optometry.

Invited Talk on IT Applications for Life Sciences

The session focused on the growing importance of IT tools in Life Sciences, covering topics like:
• Applications of data mining and machine learning in healthcare and biological research.
• Use of bioinformatics databases and software for sequence alignment, molecular modeling, and disease prediction.
• Role of IT in drug discovery, personalized medicine, and agricultural biotechnology.
• Case studies of successful IT–Life Sciences integrations.
The talk emphasized the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and highlighted emerging career opportunities for students in computational biology, bioinformatics, and health data analytics.

NSS Formation Day

The campus observed NSS Forma on Day with great enthusiasm by organizing a cleanliness
drive across the campus. Around 60 NSS volunteers actively participated, cleaning various
areas and spreading awareness on maintaining hygiene. The initiative highlighted the
importance of clean surroundings and a healthy environment. Students extended their
efforts to nearby villages, inspiring locals to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit. The program
reflected the true spirit of service, responsibility, and environmental awareness, promoting
an eco-friendly and clean campus culture. Such activities strengthen the bond between
students and society, nurturing a sense of social responsibility. The event concluded with a
pledge to uphold the ideals of Swachh Bharat and sustainable living.

WORKSHOP ON EMBEDDED SYSTEMS USING FREE RTOS

"The major objective of the RTOS workshop for embedded systems was to
provide students with a solid foundational understanding of Real-Time
Operating Systems (RTOS) and their application in embedded system design.
The workshop aimed to equip students with the knowledge to develop and
implement RTOS-based applications, emphasizing task scheduling, resource
management, and system stability in real-time environments. It focused on
enabling learners to understand the architecture of RTOS, learn practical skills
for building stable and efficient embedded solutions, and appreciate the
significance of deterministic task execution in critical applications such as
automotive, medical, and industrial automation systems. Through hands-on
activities, students were expected to gain proficiency in designing real-time
models, handling multitasking, and applying RTOS principles to real-world
embedded system challenges

An expert talk was conducted on the occasion of Engineers Day. Mr. Chiranjeevulu S (Retd. Chief manager (QC and R&D) had addressed the students on “Safety and Risk Management by Engineers on work Premises”. He emphasized on various aspects of Safety rules and methodologies adopted towards maintaing a healthy and safety workplace in industries as well as Campus premises.

An expert talk was conducted on the occasion of Engineers Day. Mr. Dheeraj (Founder) from Kriya Raprotech Solutions address the audience on “Role of Engineers on New Age Manufacturing”. He has emphasized on the new age mindset and innovative approaches taken at current state of manufactuing innovation and productivity development.

FDP ON MEDICAL DEVICES TOOLS FABRICATION TECHNIQUES EMERGING APPLICATIONS

To provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of medical device design
and manufacturing processes, focusing on essential tools and advanced
fabrication techniques. The webinar aims to enhance understanding of material
selection, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance crucial for safe and
effective medical devices. Additionally, it seeks to highlight emerging
technologies and applications, such as wearable devices and smart implants,
empowering participants to appreciate innovations that are transforming
healthcare solutions. The objective is to equip attendees with insights into
current trends and best practices in the medical device industry, fostering
awareness and readiness for future advancements.

AWS Jam Event-2025

The Department of CSE organized an AWS Jam Event on 18th August 2025 Vizianagaram, Bhuvaneswar and Paralakhemundi campuses. The event aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in solving real-world cloud challenges through AWS Skill Builder Jam sessions. It offered an interactive platform for participants to strengthen their practical cloud computing knowledge, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The AWS Jam Event successfully provided hands-on cloud computing exposure to 60 participants. The competition tested both technical expertise and time management, ensuring an industry-oriented learning experience. The Department of CSE plans to continue such
initiatives to bridge the gap between academia and industry in cloud computing.

Invited Talk on AI Agents: The Future of Intelligence

Participants gained conceptual clarity about AI Agents and their distinct role in next-generation AI systems. Understood practical applications and potential research opportunities in various fields. Became aware of tools, platforms, and ethical considerations related to AI Agents.The session encouraged innovation and interdisciplinary project ideas among students and researcher.

Plantation Drive

The campus organized a plantation drive in and around the premises to promote eco-
friendliness and cleanliness. Students from all branches, along with faculty, the Deputy
Registrar sir, Registrar ma’am, and staff members actively partcipated in the initiative.
Around 40 saplings of various species were planted, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and
care for nature. The event aimed to create a greener and healthier environment for
everyone. This collective effort reflected the institutions commitment to environmental
conservation and inspired students to nurture a cleaner, greener future.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The NSS Cell successfully organised a Blood Donation Camp in response to a request from Maharaja Government Hospital, Vizianagaram.

Our students, faculty, and staff participated actively in the camp. Their willingness to contribute towards saving lives made this initiative a great success. A total of 75 members donated 250 ml each, amounting to 18,750 ml (18.75 litres) of blood.

The hospital staff expressed their heartfelt gratitude, mentioning that they were running critically low on blood, and our timely support means a great deal to them.

It also covered effective database tuning techniques for fine-tuning performance. The workshop delved into the latest advancements in database technologies, including the rise of NoSQL databases, NewSQL systems, and their unique characteristics and use cases. CLEANLINESS DRIVE - TEKKALI VILLAG

Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign of the Government of India aims at adopting a whole of government approach to ensure visibly higher order of cleanliness through Shramdaan (volunteerism) and Jan Bhagidari (community participation). Under the banner of NSS, Centurion University students and faculty have participated in the Shramdaan for Swachhata by cleaning the surroundings of nearby village Tekkali. A total of 35 students and faculty members have actively participated in the event and cleaned the village, also awareness was given to villagers on the importance of cleanliness.

HEPATITIS B VACCINATION DRIVE

Hepatitis b vaccination drive has been condcuted by Dr.M.Vinod Kumar for the BSc Anesthesia Students who are more prone for Hepatitis b Virus in Hospital area . vacciantion has doen for the students with having concern from them by geeting signed in the form and almost of 23 students had got vaccinated by Dr.Chaitnaya and Dr Vinod in Anatomy lab and OT lab

WORKSHOP ON JAVA FOR MODERN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The Advanced Java Basics workshop covers essential modern Java features. It introduces Generics for type-safe programming, Lambda Expressions for functional-style coding, and the Stream API for efficient data processing. Additionally, it explores Annotations for metadata-driven programming and Reflection for runtime class inspection. The session concludes with Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) to connect Java applications with databases.

The Multithreading and Concurrency module provides a deep dive into Java's threading model. It covers Thread creation and management, ensuring efficient execution. Synchronization techniques help prevent race conditions, while Concurrency Utilities streamline multi-threaded programming. The module also introduces Thread Pooling, improving resource management in high-performance applications.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO AMTZ

Students from the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Biomedical Engineering programs visited the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), India’s premier medical device manufacturing park, located in Visakhapatnam. The visit was aimed at providing students with industry exposure, hands-on learning about medical device manufacturing, and insights into the latest advancements in healthcare technology.

World Optometry Day

On the occasion of World Optometry Day, the Department of Optometry organized an enlightening webinar titled “Things I Wish I Knew When I Was an Optometry Student,” delivered by the esteemed speaker, Ms. Suharsha Paidimarri. This insightful session aimed to guide students in navigating their academic journey and preparing for successful careers in optometry.
Ms. Paidimarri, an experienced professional in the field, drew from her personal experiences and professional insights to offer practical advice, tips, and valuable lessons. Her talk was engaging, reflective, and filled with real-world examples designed to help students build a strong foundation in optometry. Department of optometry has also launched a Youtube channel and a Blog page , a flash mob along with skit was performed at RK Beach Vizag as a part of promoting the department .

National Pharmacy Education Day was celebrated on March 6, 2025, in remembrance of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff, the father of National Pharmacy Education. The event was held at Centurion University, with Dr. Prashanth Kumar Mohanthy, the Vice Chancellor, as the chief guest. During his speech, Dr. Mohanthy shared inspiring words, offered blessings to the students, and highlighted various career opportunities in the pharmacy field. Hands-on Workshop on “Computational Drug Discovery and Molecular Docking Using Biovia Discovery Studio” 6th and 7th February, 2025

The Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on Computational Drug Discovery and Molecular Docking was highly successful, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. The interactive and project-based learning approach allowed participants to gain practical skills and confidence in applying computational drug discovery techniques to their academic and research projects.
Participants expressed keen interest in continuing research in drug discovery and requested advanced workshops on similar topics. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Polaki Suman, who acknowledged the resource person, faculty members, and participants for their active involvement and contribution to the success of the event.
The workshop was a great initiative in bridging the gap between computational biology and real-world research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among Engineering, Pharmacy, and Forensic Science students and faculty.

The Hands-on Workshop on Bioinformatics Tools and its Application in Bioscience was held from December 12-24, 2024, at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM-AP), organized by the Department of Computer Science and Bioscience, SoET, CUTM-AP. The workshop, led by Dr. Polaki Suman, provided an in-depth understanding of bioinformatics concepts and practical training on various computational tools. Around 40 students from Computer Science and Biosciences (CSBS), B.Sc Agriculture, and B.Pharmacy actively participated. The sessions covered six core units of bioinformatics, ten sub-categories, and 61 topics, including genome and protein structure analysis, sequence alignment, databases, mining tools, predictive tools, and cheminformatics for drug design. Participants gained hands-on experience with 20 online and offline bioinformatics tools, enhancing their ability to analyze biological data. The workshop successfully bridged the gap between biology and computational sciences, equipping students with essential bioinformatics skills for research and career opportunities in biotechnology and healthcare.

BIZFEST 2.O 26th and 27th Oct/2024

The School of Management at Centurion University of Technology and Management, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, organized BIZFEST 2.O on the 25th and 26th of October 2024. Students from various colleges attended this event. This two-day event aimed to unite business minds and promote entrepreneurial and managerial skills among students. On Day 1, participants showcased their creativity in a series of engaging activities. The Business Plan event encouraged students to present innovative business ideas, while Ad-Mad challenged teams to create a fun, The day concluded with a competitive Business Quiz, where teams faced off in multiple rounds until one emerged victorious. Day 2, focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and cultural celebration. Teams participated in a Teamwork and Time Management exercise. The Treasure Hunt had teams racing to solve tricky clues and locate hidden hints, sharpening their problem-solving skills. The day also featured Culturals, an entertaining mix of dance, singing, Scene recreation and a surprise flash mob, where everyone joined in the fun. Finally, a prize distribution ceremony awarded certificates to all participants by our Honourable Vice Chancellor Sir, with special certificates and cash prizes for the winners. The program succeeded in creating a platform for students to develop key business skills, foster interpersonal relationships, and celebrate a shared passion for management. On the occasion of National Forensic Science Week, we have successfully organized 2nd National Forensic Finds – 2K24 with a theme of Bridging Science & Justice on 11th to 13th September, 2024. It includes various activities to raise awareness of the Forensic Science Guest lecture by Ms. PBS Sai Pavitra, Assist. Legal Aid Defense Counsel, District Court, Vizianagaram followed by a series of events like Quiz competitions, Public Speaking Competition, Debate, Creative writing, Treasure hunt and Word Games. 95 members have participated in the event.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Kargil Vijay Diwa is celebrated on July 26 th each year in honor of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil war to observe India's victory over Pakistan in 1999.
In order to tribute our Indian soldiers, CSaR with NSS and NCC celebrated this visionary day by conducting Poster Making, Painting & Essay Writing competitions with a theme of KARGIL DIVAS, post the competitions former Army serviceman and present security officer of university Mr Laxmi Dasu was felicitated as a recognition to his service to the country by Honourable Vice Chancellor, Registrar madam. Winners of the competition were given the prizes, a total of 120 students have participated in the event.

World Environment Day

Tree planting is recognised as one of the most engaging, environmentally-friendly activities that
People can participate in helping the planet when done properly. On the eve of World Environment
Day, Centurion University, Andhra Pradesh has organized a plantation drive to keep the campus
more lively and greenery. Vice Chancellor, Dean SoPAHS, SoET and Deputy Registrar has taken
part in the drive along with the CSaR team. A total of 20 samplings were planted in the campus.
Following the plantation, Vice chancellor addressed the team to promote the growth of local and
regional trees which can keep the ecosystem lively for all the organisms.

INTENSIVE PROGRAMMING WORKSHOP ON FLUTTER

An Intensive Programming Workshop On Flutter is organized in Centurion University of Technology and
Management, Andhra Pradesh during 25th and 26th Oct 2025. 26 students participated in the workshop.
For this Mr. D. Geetha Krishna Suhas, Software Developer, Chella Soft, Madhurai came to university campus
and guided the students. A week prior to the workshop, he gave 6 problem statements which are located
here. Each student developed app for one statement. On the first day of the workshop, Mr. Krishna
reviewed each student individually on their progress with the app and provided suggestions on
troubleshooting, theming, coding way and others. Students throughout the night worked on the same.
Next day, i.e. on 26th Oct 2025, students were evaluated on their progress and were awarded marks. The
evaluation sheet is located here. The evaluation is exhaustive and is on parameters, namely: UI, UI errors,
Auth, Store file presence, g store file presence, Store file implementation, testing, testcases, theme, Code
Organization, Re-usable Components, Error Handling, extra innovative features, Project Completion. The
workshop is conducted in Old Board Room.

INTERNAL HACKATHON FOR SIH 2025

An internal hackathon has been planned in Centurion University of Technology and Management, Andhra Pradesh campus so as to shortlist the solutions to problem statements. The event is planned to be executed during 16th Sept 2025 to 18th Sept 2025. Design solutions to various problems listed by Govt. of Bharat and other PSU and private companies. Demonstrate skill in developing project planning and execution of the same. Solve interdisciplinary problems Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in a multidisciplinary team.

To mark the occasion, we organized engaging activities, including a poster-making and essay-writing competition. Students enthusiastically participated, expressing their creativity and perspectives on the significance of the Constitution in shaping our nation. These activities served as a platform to inspire awareness and appreciation for the values enshrined in our Constitution. The event was a tribute to the visionary framework that continues to uphold the spirit of democracy in India.
