Dr.Punnam Chhetri

Dr. Punnam Chhetri, Assistant Professor in Agronomy and Agroforestry, holds a Ph.D. in
Agronomy from NAI, (SHUATS), Prayagraj. With over 5 years of teaching experience, my
research focuses on transplanting methods and nitrogen management to improve rice yield and
sustainable farming practices. Authored and edited two books, contributed to several book
chapters, and published numerous research papers in national and international journals.
My areas of interest include sustainable agricultural practices, crop management, and improving
the economic viability of farming systems. I am dedicated to enhancing food security and the
livelihoods of farming communities through the adoption of environmentally sustainable
techniques.
Additionally, DGCA-certified small-scale drone instructor, with expertise in remote piloting and
the use of data science technologies to support smart agriculture. My work integrates modern
technology with agronomy, aiming to promote long-term sustainability and productivity in
farming systems.
