PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Technology (B.Sc. CVT) is a competency-based undergraduate program.
The program is designed to develop clinically competent, ethically responsible, and professionally skilled cardiovascular technologists capable of supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to cardiac and vascular care across diverse healthcare settings.
The curriculum integrates foundational biomedical sciences, cardiovascular physiology, cardiac pathology, diagnostic cardiology, interventional cardiology techniques, and patient care, along with principles of hemodynamics and critical care. It emphasizes the use of advanced cardiovascular technologies and procedures such as Electrocardiography (ECG), Echocardiography, Cardiac Catheterization, Angiography, Stress Testing, and other non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations, with a strong focus on patient safety, quality assurance, and professional ethics.
Students gain hands-on clinical exposure in cardiac care units, catheterization laboratories, and non-invasive diagnostic labs, enabling them to develop practical skills in monitoring, assisting in cardiac procedures, and managing cardiovascular emergencies under supervision.
Structured as a three-year academic program with a compulsory internship, the course follows a competency-based education model, ensuring graduates acquire the necessary knowledge, technical skills, professional behavior, and ethical values as prescribed by national regulatory standards.
Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible for registration under the National/State Allied and Healthcare Professions Council and are well prepared for employment, higher education, research, and professional advancement in the field of cardiovascular technology
